The Forge is situated in Somersal Herbert south of Ashbourne, just a short drive ( 7 miles ) from Alton Towers with Drayton Manor Park a little further a field. At Tamworth is the Snowdome, and Waterworld at Stoke-on-Trent with its thrilling water rides. Stoke-on-Trent is also the home of 'The Potteries'. Alternatively take the family on a trip to Amerton Farm, on the Stafford side of Uttoxeter. Children will also enjoy the Blackbrook Zoological Park.

The Peak District is ideal, perfect for walking, cycling, pony trekking, rock climbing, or visiting caves. On the edge of the Peak Park is Carsington Water, providing activities such as windsurfing, sailing and fishing. Another excellent location for walking, cycling and pony trekking is the former Royal Hunting Forest of Cannock Chase, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where Britains largest herd of fallow deer roam free.
There are many National Trust properties in the area including Sudbury Hall in the adjacent village, others include the magnificent Chatsworth House and Shugborough Hall.

• The Ground Floor has a very large beamed living area featuring an open plan staircase and a fully equipped quality kitchen. Double doors from the sitting room open out on to the sunny patio.
• Bathrooms. All of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities.
• The extremely large open plan living area (approximately 50 feet by 18 feet) is ideal for large gatherings, conferences, parties or weddings (a marquee could also link on to this room through the patio doors allowing limitless numbers to enjoy the occasion with superb garden views) Catering is available and we are happy to help and advise on any other arrangements as necessary.
• Fridge freezer with chilled water and ice maker, range cooker, 52" television, plenty of private parking, bbq, shared tennis court.

A Good House Keeping Deposit of £150 is payable and this is returned 1 week after the holiday if all booking conditions are met.
